What's all the fuss about?

Not much lately. Hopefully my work problems will be fixed, but I thought they would a few weeks back.  Finished reading Neverwinter and didn't think it as an addictive read. Seems R.A. Salvatore may be introducing a new sidekick to Drizzt. Picked up Hunger Games to see what all the commotion is about. Early on thus far and I can already see what all the commotion is about. It does strike me as weird why this book is a "teen" read. But it reads smooth and the story moves along thus far a a good pace.

Sorry Batman.

Sorry Batman. Again Batman Arkham City takes a back seat to another game. One day I will finish Batman. I received my copy of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and played that for a few hours. Much like World or Warcraft but with an actual fighting component. Thus far a pretty good game with lots of potential for growth.

Spring seems to be here, but living here many years you can never discard winter. We are no in the clear until May. Temperatures however are springlike for a while.

Expect to finish reading Neverwinter by this weekend and thus far planning on reading Hunger Games. Seems like a short read and so many people are raving about it. So I will see for myself what all the rave is about.

Hello Winter. Goodbye Winter.

We got almost a foot of snow yesterday and the roads were a mess on my way home. However today the warmer temperatures can already be felt. Much will melt over the next few days.

Finally finished Blue Mars and found it a bit boring like the rest but I can say I finished the Mars Trilogy. Overall the political aspect and to see how the new people of Mars started their new government was nice to read. Right away I jumped into R.A. Salvatore's Neverwinter. Drizzt latest adventures and I am sure it will be very entertaining as the other adventures have.

Also on my other geek side I jumped back into Batman Arkham City and hope to get to finish that game soon. Many side quests but I will mainly concentrate on the main story line.

On my personal drama, my ex wife again decided to harass me on the phone last night and threaten to take my daughter away from me. It will never end. I get accuses of everything "under the sun". I don't even bother to point out bruises or problems with my daughter since she will deny and accuse me of them.

Rain?

We are expecting a wee-bit of rain this afternoon which may possibly turn to snow towards the tail end of the storm. I do not expect much snow if any out of this storm.

Jumped back in Batman: Arkham City after many months in the shelf. I hope to get into it and finish it this week. It has been long overdue. Also hope to finish Blue Mars today and jump into R.A. Salvatore's Neverwinter this week. A short read but a continuation into the Drizzt saga.

Winter? Where?

Snow is done and it's heating back up again. It has been a very weird and mild winter. Expect much of the snow to melt and get us ready for what I am sure will be another storm next week.

In the meantime with so many days off I finished Mass Effect 3. Many across the inter-webs have complained about the ending. I found the ending to be OK. Even the small scene after the credits was pretty good. Now I will hope to take time to dive into the multiplayer aspect of the game as many are raving about it.

As far as my reading goes, it has slowed down. Blue Mars started decent and towards the middle I got a little uninterested. I expect to finish by the end of the weekend.

Also on another end, I find myself lately following cycling. I hope to have the interest this year to follow much of the season. This sport was a great part of my life for so long and in the past few years I had no desire to follow it. Just not very exciting and the cheats just made it into a drama show.

Old Man Winter Is Here

Well, another snowstorm and still not letting up. Last night we lost power in the afternoon and I ended up going to my parents to spend the night with Natalia. No generator to keep the heater going. Thus far I'm looking at over 2' on my porch. Many side roads are not plowed often and tend to be a mess. I ended up getting home no problems and had to dig myself back in. Overall not bad other than my front deck which gets tons of snow. I now find myself relaxing in front of the fireplace. It was a good weekend as usual.

Happy Birthday To Me

Well it is my birthday today. 39 years ago I was born into this world. I would have never imagined that I would be here this time last year. This time last year I was happily married in my dream home relaxing. In a matter of less than a year I found myself here. I did bounce very quick because I had no choice, but here I am finally settling down into my new life. Overall no regrets and lessons learned. I find myself this year back to my old self. Still wish I was more physically active but working on getting my butt off the couch every once in a while.

Tomorrow however is the day I may celebrate. The day my life was turned upside down in a flash. Since that day I learned many things in a matter of a few months. My character was put to the test and I learned to count on myself only. Learned many people out there are very fake and superficial. The most important thing I learned was to have faith. To let go and not fight it. There has always been a way supplied to me to solve any problems I may have. Also to look for signs. They are showed to us and it is a matter of us being able to spot these signs. I have a more clearer view now and see them and can't help but look up and laugh a little inside.

Sunny day today and was hoping for a dark cold day, but that is tomorrow, as much snow is expected.

Another Day Off

Another day off from work. I am getting screwed on hours lately and that is not good. We will see how it goes. In the meantime I picked up Mass Effect 3 and have been putting some time into it. I have to say is a good game with many ways to play it. I am playing as female Sheppard on the Narrative mode. It is easy as it tries to move the story along. I will try another mode once I finish it.

Getting ready for a big snowstorm this weekend. I hope it doesn't affect me on Sunday morning that much but I am already ready for it.

Still reading Blue Mars and liking it thus far. I didn't think I would. However my reading has slowed down this week.

Drill Weekend Done

Drill weekend over and overall not bad. Deep down I always look forward to sharing thedays with my fellow Corpsmen. Some training and nonstop work at the clinic. I do like the way the unit is finally running thanks to the many. New leadership also has been a great addition. I say bye to Doc Aldrete as he is going IRR and soon another "See you later" to Doc Mejia on his deployment to Kandahar. Also thanks to Doc White for his work with Toys For Tots and the award I received due to his efforts. Toys For Tots is an organization I would be more than happy to help out in years to follow.

Cold And Another Read

Finished reading Greg Bear's Hull Zero Three and found it entertaining. I liked the ending as it wrapped up the story and explained the purpose of the ship. Will start Blue Mars and hope it grabs me. The last 2 books were just alright to me but want to finish the full story.

Half day at work today and hoping no drama at work today. It has been ridiculous at work lately.

Just a dusting of snow overnight but windy and very cold out today.

As far as games, I haven't played anything these past few day. Just not in the mood. Waiting for Mass Effect 3 to arrive this weekend and looking forward to playing that on Sunday.

Another Lazy Day.

Finished reading Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere and found it entertaining. I would recommend this book. Quickly started Greg Bear's Hull Zero Three. Never read Greg Bear, so I will see if he hooks me into his other books.

A day off from work. Not wanted but no choice. A day to clean up around the house. Changed the oil to the car and replaced my thermostat and patched a huge hole in the wall behind the old thermostat. Warm day today but snow expected to start late tomorrow. We are suppose to get close to the same as last time. Around 8-12". I am ready.

New Assasin's Creed 3 trailer up!

March 3, 2012

Finally

I was not going to post an entry for today. However I ran across news on the new Assassins Creed game and I am impressed. I played all the titles and never impressed but this new environment has me drooling. I can't wait to play this game and see the American wars and history from this perspective.

Today was one of those slow nice days. Nice weather and I managed to stay home. Home all these free days. I like it, since I don't spend any money and it feels good to save money. I think my daughter also likes the peace of hanging around the house all day. Maybe a huge change of pace from her other place.

Another Battle. Another Book.

Well all morning in court on my ongoing divorce. Nothing was solved today as the my attorneys ex showed up late and the court was heading to lunch. So now I await another month and a half to see if we can come to an agreement. This time I was much more relaxed and again my ex made a small scene inside the court room as well as outside. The attorneys are now clearly seeing her mental state. In the meantime things stay the same.

My daughter spent time with her grandparents here and played a bit in the snow. She likes to shovel snow with her new shovel.

Finished reading Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and I really liked it. I do recommend this book. I liked the historic aspect to the story and the way it was written. Started to read Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. My second Gaiman novel and have high hopes for this one as well.

This week saw the movie J. Edgar and liked it and picked up the new DC Comics animated film Justice League: Doom and finding time to see this film as well.
