Do You Commit Thoughcrimes?

Went out to Big Bear with Natalia to a few antique shops. Not very cold and as always saw some much cool items I would love to put around my house. I just find old items attractive makes you think how we lived years past with such items in our lives.

Rainy weather all past weekend which was great by me. A little bit of snow Sunday overnight to keep everything white and "clean" again. Still moving along very slowly with Wizard And Glass. Started to read George Orwell's 1984 and hope to finish by the end of the week as work has me coming home very late and I take the mornings to slowly clean around the estate.

While cleaning around Tuesday morning I hear a big slam against one of my windows. It was a good sized bird slam and lay twitching on the snow. Soon it was immobile and hours went by. Next thing I know I see her walking around. Not long after that she flew off. Amazing what happened.

1984 I find a good book and one not too far off from society nowadays. Of course it is not really visual in the streets but many of these basic principles are being applies and are present. More and more I see a socialist agenda being pushed to the American citizens. Our welfare system which in many regions being pushed and causing its people to become not only dependent on it but them to feel it is normal to have the government support them. Why work or try to support yourself when the government will provide you with many goods. Our healthcare system trying to be reformed to in a way control the health care of all citizens to what certain groups feel is what we need. Just recently we have Anonymous hacking the U.S. Sentencing Commission site with a message in memory of Aaron Swartz whom we are told committed suicide. I don't know much about this case but just apply some of 1984 (proles = Anonymous?). I can even see the Though Police (Maybe using Facebook, Kinect, Twitter, etc) in the form of the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act ) in their take down actions as the media is using them to manipulate us in the name of piracy. Call me a "crackpot" but this is what I see day to day. Not all is as bad as I make it seem as I believe it is a big nation with many out there not telling "Big Brother" to ....

Doctor Visit

Natalia had her regular medical appointment this week and it was very quick as always and everything good. Natalia brought her doctor kit in case the doctor didn't have all the proper equipment. Doctor always says she is small as if there was a human standard to meet, and that always bothers me. No drama with my ex as she sat there texting most of the time.

Watched Seal Team Six and found the movie good. Much better than Act Of Valor. Seal Team Six managed to get a little bit into the personal lives of these sailors. Yes, they are "sailors" whom earned the SEAL trident. This may or may not be what happened in the raid or how it came to be and maybe one day we will find out the truth and see the pictures and evidence. Many are still waiting on the truth behind the John F. Kennedy assassination. So I wouldn't hold my breath.

Work thus far is good. I've adjusted quickly and always expand my work to keep busy throughout the day. The big grand re-opening is finally set for Wednesday and I work the afternoon  So I hope by then all the "hoopla" is done and the politicians, photos and butt kissing is over. The remodel crew will finally go home after over a year in the area. Nice to see some old faces from when I started.

Finished Anasi Boys by Neil Gaiman and found it a very good story. Gaiman is a very good story teller and so far all those I have read have been good stories. Now I need to get back to Dark Tower and finish book 4. I was hoping to read 1984 or Old Man's War as I thought I had them loaded on my Nook, but didn't.

Rain expected this weekend but I doubt very much we will see snow on the second wave.

Geek News - Robotech movie still lingering around Hollywood. Rumors has it that Aquaman may be cut from the new Justice League movie. After DC has spent so much re-booting this character and he is part of the Justice League. I am sure a creative writer can make Aquaman "cool" as many see him as not. Many already know but in case, J.J. Abrams will direct the next Star Wars movie which takes place after Return Of The Jedi.

Round Up The Wagons!

A wagon? I would love one of these adorning my front yard and house. Call me weird but I love wagons and the way of life it represents. Christmas decorations are put away. I took them down much earlier than usual. No real reason why. I guess using these days with the warmer weather to clean up and get ready for the next storm. Up here I take these days with break in weather to clean up and get ready for the next one. I think we all do up here.

Want to go visit the Aquarium Of The Pacific with Natalia but I'm always broke. One day I will make it happen. I love that place as I used to visit it often years ago.

According to So Cal Weather Net (which I found is most accurate weather forecaster up here), we are expecting a change of weather this coming weekend. Precipitation expected but no word on possible temperatures this far out.

It is time for Lance to "round up his wagons" and do some serious damage control. He can no longer use his image, foundation and team of lawyers to hush people up. I will just say that I didn't see the whole Oprah interview of Lance but saw a few moments. I've lived the sport and like so many inside the sport we all knew. I was involved in the sport in its worse and even saw the problem at a lower level. Much blame has to also be placed at the organization and the teams themselves as many look the other way and/or encourage it. I have to thank Oprah for asking the questions and taking Lance off the script at times. She clearly made everyone see the sociopath that Lance is and his attitude even today about his actions. Lance clearly is not sorry to the point of laughing a little and didn't speak the whole truth. Mostly because of possible legal actions that can be taken against him. Many of his answers were untruthful as he at this point is in so much trouble legally. He knows the statute of limitations and has been careful to not implicate himself by still lying. So as far as he said he was a bad boy until 2005. Anything thereafter would put him in jail. I think the only way he learns is to when he starts to see his bank account getting drained, as right away he pointed out to loosing millions in  matter of seconds through sponsors dropping him. It hit him hard to loose Livestrong as that would be his only source of income. The problem is not about him actually doping, but about his actions used to cover it up and behavior used for so many years against so many people and companies to lie to them. Many riders cheated and continue to cheat but they do not act as Lance did. What also bother me is the foundation as he made millions from them. If he cared so much why not do it for free?He already has millions, why need more? Greed. The millions he made as well as the top positions there can really help so many families living with cancer. But instead they need nicer cars and houses. They need the money to make people aware of cancer. Aware? I think the whole world is aware. They need money to research they many types of cancers. Also he wants to compete again as he almost said for the money. As if a guy like him wouldn't cheat for money. He already has a record of doing so. Of course he would cheat again for money. Just start to save money, settle down and live life. Take care of your many children and your personal problems.

On the geek news front I want to point out that Lake Vostok in Antarctica is being sampled and I am looking forward to what may be found in its deep waters.

Do you know whose house is pictured? You get this right and you are on your way to getting me to like you.

Call Me "Crazy". Maybe?

Just working lately and the weather has started to warm up again. Down the hill it has been real nice days. BBQ weather is what I call it. I will take these next few days to clean up around the house and scrape off all the ice and clean driveway. The next few days will be the same. Thus far we have not had so much snow the past few years as when I moved up here in 2000.

The other day I found myself laughing at the cover of one of the tabloids as Hillary Clinton was pictured wearing big sunglasses. The caption referred as she got blood clots in her eyes due to her concussion. Sure! She clearly made the whole thing up to not testify in the Benghazi hearings and start her plastic surgery work in her way to run for presidency in the next elections. Credit to No Agenda for calling it weeks if not months ago. Also the Sandy Hook shooting has been getting much press lately for other reasons. I must say I too am a "conspiracy theorist" as there has been much contradictory and questionable evidence that was released but buried. Some of the "witnesses" to me are clearly "actors" as some footage released but buried has appeared leading to this. Not to mention no one can really recall the shooter. Even neighbors don't clearly even remember him. No real background in the shooter as he really never existed. The number of students too has been changed a few times to make the story work. Even the coroner handled the situation out of "norm" with the identification of bodies and his reports. Far too many irregularities and weird behavior. Is it a plot to ban weapons or to raise sales? Sales have skyrocketed and thus far the talks on the ban seem to not really ban anything other that cosmetic issues. More people die daily from so many other factors such as alcohol or even stabbings but we don't ban knives or alcohol. Never is the movie industry at fault. They have too much power and make too much money in violent movies. Instead lets go after the video game industry which is slowly eating away at the movie industry. Simply far too many agendas with this incident. Something did happen at Sandy Hook but sadly it is too late to find out the truth. Call me nasty or a weirdo but I am not alone and just tired of watching the media brainwash us into agendas from the government or big companies. You can say I enjoy watching the masses fall for the agendas.

In case you still like me. Maybe next week I will go on a short rant on the welfare program and its abuse. I see it daily to the point it gets to me and I have to step out for a bit. That may take care of the rest of my readers.

Still playing Borderlands 2 and the new DLC Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is a disappointment. Very short with one raid boss and the other hard to spawn due. With the other "big" DLC releasing months from now I am in hopes they put out an update for a new level cap as they have just announced. Got into Anansi Boys and hoping to finish the story by next week. However, still moving along with Wizard And Glass.

Hollywood has clearly run out of ideas. Now they want to "reboot" Gremlins. All they have to do is check out the many great books out there and get ideas or bring those to screen.

Three Camels In The Cold.

The cold front did hit hours later. However not much snow with this storm, but easy to clean. I was unsure how this storm would land. In the end it didn't deliver much snow at all but it did deliver very cold temperatures.

Drill weekend over as well as my sailor of the quarter board. I didn't do well as I figured. It is simply a "dog and pony show". After all the requests for an evaluation on my work and skills it always comes down to physical appearance in a uniform. I can honestly say I am one of the very few whom actually increase and affect medical readiness for the reserve center. That is simply not based on that as many other simply do not contribute as much to the reserve center and the mobilization process. But I hope this is the last time I am put through this. I do know I am appreciated. Just not the type to "kiss butt", say what people want to hear or jump when told.

The past few days with Natalia have been great as always and as usual she rather stay at home. We celebrated "Los Reyes Magos" (Three Wise Men) and again she received presents from the three kings and the camels didn't leave a mess behind. They left her a memory game, a puzzle set as well as binoculars so when she gets older we can go out and look at birds and the awesome scenery up here. Daddy played much in her kitchen and cooked a few meals as well. Didn't go outside to play as the temperatures were  under 20 degrees much of the days.

Watched Dredd and found the movie entertaining. A better adaptation to the Dredd universe. I think what made it better was that Dredd never took his helmet off thus creating that action dark feel.

Decided to start reading Anasi Boys by Neil Gaiman since Stephen King's Wizard And Glass has been dragging for me. I will finish the Darktower story but needed a change of scenery. Also just read that Stephen King's Under The Dome story will be a TV series this summer. It will be in the feel of the Walking Dead. I liked the book and look forward to the TV adaptation of the story.

I Make PooPoo!

"Daddy, I'm tired of cleaning the deck." This was a few days ago as I decided to finally clean off the top deck. Yes, Natalia did help a bit and managed to drop her shovel off the deck. A nice long walk in the snow to pick it up. Also Natalia made her first "PooPoo" on her chair. Exciting day for her but new procedures for me.

Damn, I like this silicon spatula! I will say I've been baking a bit lately and liking it. Just wished my kitchen was a little bigger, but it is a matter of organizing. Need to find me nice cookie jars for when I go crazy making cookies.

Finally watched two movies this week. Watched Trouble With The Curve and liked it but thought it was going to make me cry a little. The other movie was Looper which I have been wanting to see. I liked the story and with movies like this I always find myself asking questions. Is Cid (Rainmaker) the younger Joe?

Woke up Thursday morning to a little rain. Everyone was saying a huge arctic blast was hitting the area overnight with temps possible below zero. However on my way up from picking up Natalia it started to snow and didn't let up for hours. Didn't go to work as unsure on how much would stack up and how bad the roads would be. One thing was sure, the snow didn't stop the birds from hanging around my feeders. Also got a chance to put on my snowshoes to bring some firewood up.

Don't know if I mentioned before but finished the Halo 4 campaign and thought the game was alright. The levels were all repetitive which was a let down for me. I can see how the ending got to fans. Haven't touched multiplayer yet and hope it puts you in games with same level guys.

I'm 3!

I'm 3! Natalia is 3 years old. Her birthday was yesterday and made pizza as that is what she wanted. She got a nice play kitchen, pots and pans to play with. Went sledding again in the yard which is always fun. A little snow expected Sunday and welcomed.

So far so good this year. Work is good and still reading Wizard & Glass. This book is mainly all recalling Roland's life and how he became a Gunslinger. Haven't been liking it as much but will get it finished. Already have a nice list of books I want to read. Also still playing Borderlands 2 as this game has got me hooked. Will like to also watch Looper and Trouble With The Curve. Haven't seen much movies lately but these two I would love to watch. Also Judge Dredd is getting released this Tuesday and I would love to see that version.

Geek News - New Tarantino film will be his 3rd in the alternate universe and may be called Killer Crows. Killer Crows is set to end his alternate history trilogy which includes Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained. Also writer Warren Ellis has a movie releasing called Gun Machine which sounds interesting.

On To A New Year.

I did accomplish my new years resolutions set last year. I managed to read my set goal of 30 books and even tried to increase it to 40. Also managed to really "tighten my belt" and not spend money on junk. I had no choice as this year was very tight financially and 2013 looks identical.

For this coming year I set the same goals. To save money and to read 35 books by the end of 2013. Maybe a transfer to another department at work. I wish for a year of health for my family and friends. I also look for a reenlistment in the Navy this year and hope that goes through.  Maybe a big resolution would be to learn to really not care and know that in the end I will be a big part in my daughters life and no one will take that away from me. I always pray that things work out in the end. I need to start to listen to myself, but it is very hard to many times when I can't do anything and the system has no punishment.

Also hope to get back into running as I believe it will help me relax and unwind. This coming year for sure will be very hard on many as I am very sure the economy will continue to do worse and we will see the real truth after all the lies during the campaign trail. Many will pay higher taxes and those with jobs, no matter how bad and low paying will be lucky to have one.

I do look to a new year with excitement as always. To see how my life continues to turn out. I am in no rush in life, as I have no problems pulling over to the side to check out the scenery in a world where many are always in a rush pushing their way through.
