My Christmas celebrations are over and "ex wife drama" as again she choose to not pay attention to the court orders and do as she pleased during Christmas by keeping her an extra day and not really giving Natalia the pleasure of waking up at daddy's house to see her presents under the tree that Santa left her. Instead I mistakenly choose to try to reason with her for a few hours to simply get laughed at as usual. I don't think her actions will never bother me as it always will anger me that such actions go unpunished.
Santa brought Natalia what she asked but as I figured she didn't pay much attention to the Barbies she received. Santa left musical instruments at my parents house which is what she is most excited about. Also Santa left her The Hulk which is her favorite super hero. So it is a Hulk smash musical Christmas.
During Christmas day I was alone and made it a guys day again. Finished Halo 4 and maxed out another character in Borderlands 2. Still reading Wizard & Glass ( Dark Tower 4) and won't finish before the year is over. I know, not very attractive or exciting.
Last night while relaxing in the couch with Natalia eating some good stale popcorn from those big tins, I noticed what I thought was a cat outside when all the sudden it puts its paws up on the glass door and it is a raccoon. A nice size raccoon and I opened the door to see what it would do. It just sat there and looked at me. I always figured I have a nice size nest in one of the trees in the new place.
I was expecting to wake up to some snow this morning but it seems it will start to roll in this afternoon. I hope we don't get dumped on as I have to get up early tomorrow to avoid my daughters mom from freaking out.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all. Glad to see it is acceptable to say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays, So Merry Christmas! I was starting to worry there for a bit as our society would become "dumbed down". For me it is not about the day but the season. The time this special feeling is in the air. I know I am one of the few that get this feeling as Christmas for many lately is time to spend money and be aggravated with many. Once the day arrives for many they switch off. But, to me this season continues for many more weeks. I work retail and saw last night how quickly Christmas is torn down pushed to the side in a matter of minutes.
I love all seasons, holidays and occasions as they have their time throughout the years make us aware of time. This can be a time where so many are always in a hurry and feel more important than others. Where does everyone want to get in such a hurry I always wonder. Plus no one is more important than any other person. Many may have made mistakes in various degrees but it is up to each individual to make those and live with those actions and when the time comes answer for those actions.
That was my holiday rant, I will be celebrating Christmas a few days later as I spoke with Santa and arranged a later delivery. One where he is not so busy and more rested.

... And Here We Are. The Night Before Christmas.
I would like to wish all those that I have had the pleasure to cross paths this year and many whom I walked alongside for a while and those that I continue to walk alongside with a very good day, night and Merry Christmas.
I will be celebrating Christmas a few days late with Natalia as I talked with Santa a few weeks back and asked him not to worry about my house. He can come by a few days later when he is more relaxed and maybe we can share some of the sugar cookies I keep making him and eating them.

Well as you all know by now we all woke up on December 21 to yet many more years in this existence. Galactus didn't eat us so we may thank S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Silver Surfer (OK, too geeky). So keep on trucking! I enjoyed many of the twitter remarks regarding this date.
No snow these past few days and last night just a tiny bit of rain as the temps rose a bit. We were all hoping for at least a dusting to cover up the dirty snow and give us nice white all over the mountain. Natalia and I have been sick for a few days and stayed home. Didn't go out to clean decks and clear out ice. It is a bit hopeless as it all freezes overnight. I must say I've been finding all kinds of cool videos on YouTube on cycling in Spain during my times. Brings back awesome memories to see these. I can see my heroes from those days in so much footage.
New Mad Max movie on the way and I have to say from the screenshot it doesn't look bad. A JAWS remake? Sorry, it won't have the impact the original did.
My favorite video game gets another awesome DLC with Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt.
What if the E.T. movie was more of a horror movie?

A Reminder: Today Is The Last Day.
A quick post since this may be our last day in existence in this plane. It has been a full life for me thus far with many ups and downs. But for some reason my pessimistic self thinks many of us will wake up tomorrow morning in this plane to keep pushing along.
A tough Christmas financially but the spirit is there. Natalia is doing great and we will spend about 5 days together. Still no real idea on when Santa may be bringing her gifts.
Weather will warm up just a little and we have had some snow melt off and freezing temps overnight causing for real nice icicles and real slippery deck. Won't be long before I make another great fall. Just hope someone else is watching and laughs with me. I always say a good fall is a terrible thing to waste.
Job is going well and I again find myself dealing with "special" problems but that is my nature. I can never change being helpful and taking on other jobs. It was nice seeing someone briefly yesterday. Don't loose touch.
Don't forget to keep up with The Guild as the "game" may be in danger!

Santa Is Here!
Went to see Santa in town on Friday as he made a quick stop and later that night went to see him again a few hours later at the Bass Pro Shops with a friend. It was a very nice Friday. Natalia again went to see Santa a third time at my parents church Christmas party.
Introduced Natalia this weekend to yet another classic in The Munsters. She likes them sometimes. Now if I can get her to like the Andy Griffith Show.
About 2' of snow and back to winter mode. Finally got the driveway clear but still need to clean up the deck. More snow expected around Tuesday but not as much.
My job at the NOSC is over and back to my normal job Sunday. I will miss the normal PT sessions with OS1 and the topics of conversation. So far decent hours for this week. It always seems to amaze me how ignorant people are. Always amazes me the so many on government aid but yet they have hundreds of dollars of junk to buy. That's the part that really slowly gets to me. This combination sadly is where I feel our country in general is moving towards. Thank God not all of us are like this and there is a glimmer of hope.
While at the NOSC the discussion about the 50 Shades Of Grey book came up and me and another Doc told ourselves we would read it. He got it for his wife in hopes of some ... Me? I'm just curious what all the fuzz is about. However I doubt I will read it with so many books already on my wish list.
This week we also saw yet another random act of violence. Again gun control is being pushed by the media. I will say here I believe we all should have the right to arm ourselves. I know it is against what media and government are trying to brainwash us with. We never really hear about all these acts stopped by bystanders with concealed weapons. Those always get pushed to the side or misreported. Not many know of a Portland shooting at a mall this same week which was stopped by a bystander carrying a concealed weapon. Many such acts happen often but are usually never reported. No, we hear about the Sandy Hook school where the government passed laws where no weapons can be within 1000' and a school where real stupid security was employed. Strict laws where passed but it still happened. How can that be? Instead, now I see the government over the years making these shooters have mental conditions where they need medications thus I see a future where all our children will be forced to be on medications dictated by pharmaceutical companies to make bigger profits. Nowhere do we read about these shooters causing this because they were on medications which were not working. No, those facts get pushed to the side in reports. We can have a government that has weaponized drones killing people from far away and a president whom has no problems stating he has a "kill list". We have no problems killing defend-less civilians all over the world and it is OK, but we cannot have our citizens obtain weapons because it is seen as bad. A government that has no problems lying to us as in the case in Benghazi where now we need answers and Hilary Clinton all the sudden suffers a concussion where she is not allowed to testify. I know I seem to many as a cynical and crazy but that is my feelings on the matter.
Mountain bike rider Inaki Lejarreta has died in a car accident. He was the nephew of the great Marino Lejarreta whom I admired. I always wondered why Inaki never concentrated in a road career and maybe he had the style, class and passion his uncle did and showed the new generation.

Oh! The Paper Work, Barney.
Still verifying medical records and organizing at the NOSC. Only a few more days left and my AT will be over for the year. Hope the pay is decent and I get paid fast. It is always great to work among the staff here as we get to see each other more often and know each other.
Weather is changing and snow expected for Thursday. Not much but looks like more of the pattern is to follow on Monday.
Won't be able to pick up Natalia until Friday afternoon since my parents went on a short trip planned before my orders for the Navy dropped and I won't have anyone to take care of Natalia on Thursday of Friday. I was hoping to get this Friday off as well but they want us to show up and do other kind of work since we will already have finished our records verification. I do have planned to go see Santa at the Bass Pro Shops Friday night with Natalia and enjoy the night in Victoria Gardens. Hopefully decent snow where she can play outside.
Been getting home and not doing much. Just relaxing and heading to bed and doing some reading. For whatever reason watching quite a bit of the Andy Griffith Show.
Catch the No Agenda Show as Adam is stranded in Holland thanks to our DHS.

Pecos Bill On A Sleigh Bed?
Still moving along with the medical records. Not very exciting but a job that needs to be done. At least it is very laid back here. One more week and I am sure we will finish.
Finished reading Bowl Of Heaven by Gregory Benford and Larry Niven and it was alright. Didn't find it very catching at points so my reading slowed down. As I was nearing the end I kept looking at the page count as I was eager to know what the mystery behind the Bowl was, who were the Astronomers, where they were heading and why? Well as you guessed it is part of a bigger story and there is a second book on the way. I though it was a single book. I guess now I await the next book. As promised I started the 4th book in the Dark Tower series with the Wizard And Glass by Stephen King. This one is a longer read.
The Prana sale was this weekend and I didn't go. Wish I had money to go. It is the only time in the year I go out to buy clothes. Cool clothes at great prices. Instead stayed at home as usual. Made our frequent visit to the local thrift store and you can see Natalia pictured with the giant snowman. Scored a sleigh bed but it needs some patching up and work. Snow expected on Thursday and I am ready. I doubt it will be much but enough to get the mood started.
Skyrim finally gets a good DLC released which seems more like an expansion pack. Dragonborn DLC will have me jump back in Skyrim to check this out. It is one of those games I really liked and don't want to let go. Also still haven't jumped in the Mr Torgues DLC for Borderlands 2. Not to forget Halo 4 campaign which looks good. Between the games and the many books I want to read I think I'll be good for those cold snowy winter days soon to arrive. I do wish I could catch up on comics but that can get expensive.
May sound very weird to those that know me but when I was a little boy I got in a Pecos Bill "kick" as my parents tell me. I never put down the book with vinyl record from those days (do you remember?). So here is what I am talking about.

Hardcore Corpsman Work!
Well, not really, but part of the job here. Drill weekend done and no real work. Holiday party and a bunch of presentations. On Sunday I was asked if I can come over to the NOSC (Reserve Center) and help out verifying medical records and getting ready for an inspection and of course I said yes. An hour later I had orders in hand starting Monday (The next day) for two weeks. Orders that quick I was surprised but some Chiefs don't mess around. My unit officers were not happy to see the jump of chain of command or the dirty way it got done but it got done and I am better used this way that what I was suppose to do. They pay will not be great but a little better than my normal job. Plus I'm doing something satisfying and meaningful. Now I get my AT out of the way very early and my unit has one less person to worry about.
I guess due to my Navy work, I've been getting home tired. Don't know why as the work is not very hard. Short hours and just paperwork. Got most of it done with a week to go and will use the next few days to clean it up and organize as much as possible. Always good to help out the NOSC as they support us and remember those that are around. I do hope this coming year I get sent to a few courses to help out the NOSC. Anything local for a few days would be awesome. Also this weekend was HN Balisi's last drill for a while as he too deploys to Afghanistan. Hopefully he gets together with HM3 Mejia and HM2 Alcocer. HN Balisi will do great and should have no doubts. Fast learner and very eager to do do all he can for his Sailors and Marines - Hoorah!
Got Halo 4 and thought I was going to be playing more than I did. Started the campaign on Wednesday and wont be able to play again until Sunday. So far much better looking than prior versions and very nice sounding game.
Weather has been crazy as we have had no snow or even chanced at it lately. The next few days will remain as today and maybe colder temps Sunday into Monday.

Want To See My Cookies?
One huge achievement I accomplished was to make good sugar cookies. Nice soft cookies. Not hard ones that I always make. Now to try my luck in chocolate chip. I was so excited I ate almost all of them, which was not a good idea.
One of the great things about small towns is small town activities. Some have gone away while others remain. Not many show for these activities and it is what makes a small town a small town, different from the empty bland metropolis down the hill. One of these activities was our yearly tree lighting ceremony marking Santa's way across all the towns on the rim. This was to be done Friday but the rain kind of cancelled it.
Not getting many hours again at work and I am tired of fighting. Seems I can do every one a favor and work in every department but no one helps out. I may start helping out a friend in town for about 2 months in his shop. Works out as I will save in gas, stay in town enjoying the weather and get the gossip.
NASA is still working on space programs and I just came across an article where a warp drive is being talked about and researched. Read up about the Alcubierre Drive >>
Do you know from what movie this image is from? Can you name the 4 characters pictured? Hint, greatest movie ever.
Still reading Bowl Of Heaven and was hoping to have it done by now. In the meantime I got another book recommendation in Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore: A Novel. So many books, so little time. If only I can read as fast as one of my friends.
Geek News - Baldur's Gate for tablets out November 28. Ridley Scott working on a movie based on the Forever War book. Catching Fire (Hunger Games second book in trilogy) is on its way. Spider-Man #700 releases soon and it marks the end of the original series. Stephen King's Under The Dome novel will be a TV series next year.
Check out Sword & Laser wrap up of The Dirty Streets Of Heaven.

Grey Thursday.
Black Friday is done and I have to say it was the slowest ever. Maybe not Friday as retailers this year decided to start sales the night of Thanksgiving. If any analyst says sales were high or normal, they are very wrong. I still can't believe how slow it was at my job that night. I miss the years prior with the masses and being very busy. I wonder if the trend of starting sales the night of Thanksgiving will continue.
Natalia is doing well and she always gets her way. Just the words - "just a lil bit, daddy" is all I need to hear. We spent most of the week together and relaxed up here as usual. All she wants Santa to bring her is a Barbie. I already spoke with Santa and that is not a problem.
Still reading Bowl Of Heaven and thinking my next read I will go back to Midworld in the Dark Tower series. I left off in book 4 a while back and I think it is time to see how Roland and his companions are doing. Only if the Dark Tower was written years earlier. Maybe we could have seen the Man With No Name being called Roland in his journey to the Dark Tower. One can only imagine. I guess you have to be an Eastwood fan to appreciate.
Borderlands new DLC Mr. Torgue's Campaign Of Carnage is out and it looks pretty good. However no new level cap.

Day of Thanks?
Customers at work kept telling us how sorry they were we have to work Thanksgiving. Funny thing is, I'm sure many if not all of them will be shopping the first sales at 8pm on Thanksgiving. Then they wonder why we have to work that day.
The Hostess Company has closed its doors and we say bye to the iconic Twinkie, Chocodile and HoHo. President of the bakers' union said, "They decided that they were not going to agree to another round of outrageous wage and benefit cuts and give up their pension only to see yet another management team fail and Wall Street vulture capitalists and 'restructuring specialists' walk away with untold millions of dollars." Or maybe the unions failed their people by getting greedy as they too had a financial stake at the firm. Either way 18,000 jobs gone. I think it is a another mismanaged company hoping to get a government bailout and make the rich richer. Seems everyone waits for bailouts to screw the working class.
The real meaning and story of Thanksgiving?

Oh, Christmas Tree!
The Christmas Tree is up. I know, I'm probably the first guy to have it up. I don't care, I like Christmas. Actually about a week earlier than planned. Took me a while to find a place for it in the new house but found a decent place. Now to slowly decorate over the next few days.
Slow week and not much work so I stayed at home and played as much as possible. No shame in saying this. Natalia again sick, and I may have to start questioning where Natalia is being taken. Sick but that never hampers her spirits. She is so much like me. I can't wait until she gets older.
Well, as I figured my schedule for Black Friday changed. Rumors were they wanted the new people to work the registers that day. That was a real good idea, not. So I'll be up for about 24 hours but that is retail. No complaints.
Still playing Borderlands 2 and finally made Legendary with my Siren character. While farming for guns a nice player just dumped them all in my lap. Decided to start a new character (Mechromancer Little Girl) while dropping in on high level games, hope you guys don't mind. Haven't jumped in on Assassin's Creed 3 as I thought I would, but it is a game I want to finish. Hopefully I can pick up Halo 4 on sale during the sales. XBOX Live turns 10 and a few ask me why I play on the XBOX. Simply is always up and it is monitored. The PS system tend to be down often and updates that don't run in the background and take a while to download and install.
Geek & Sundry looks to not be posting any more Table Top shows. I so much liked this show but I knew it wasn't going to last a long time. Only so many games one can play. I wonder why the decision. They have replaced it with On The Table, which is a news and comment show. I like it so far as it shows me so many cool games out there.
Not reading much lately but need to finish my recent book as it it short but taking a while. No idea what to pick up next, but there a re a few candidates. This weekend it warmed up at a bit but snow may be expected next week.

Slow week and not much work so I stayed at home and played as much as possible. No shame in saying this. Natalia again sick, and I may have to start questioning where Natalia is being taken. Sick but that never hampers her spirits. She is so much like me. I can't wait until she gets older.

Snow Turkey. Hoorah Changes?
Christmas boxes are up and starting to go through them and decorating around the house. No tree up yet. Cold and wet this weekend and I like it. I picked up Natalia with a little fever and will take care of that here just by relaxing.
Cold and wet and a light dusting of snow overnight. I was hoping for about 4 inches so Natalia can at least play in it, but instead got a dusting and cold temps this morning. Natalia managed to play with a little snow this morning and made the world's first "snow turkey".

Reading has slowed down as I don't find Foundation And Empire very catching, but I'll plow through it.
Economy must be real bad because around work Black Friday is not being hyped up or planned. Normally we plan it out for weeks, have meetings, schedules get done for that day. No meetings, no real schedules. I'm not even working that day. Lots of empty holes on the schedule. I volunteered to work the worse of it but there seemed to be no interest to have people cover the event. Truth is there usually are no good deals and the good deals are so limited it's not worth the hassle. I think this year online retailers may see the shift to them this year. As far as my new position goes, it is going well. Not being pushed outside jobs and doing what I am paid to do. However I am still scheduled in my old dept one day next week which I will question since I took a pay cut to get out of there. I already hear people are being pushed to do my old job and it is not going too well.

I will not dwell in politics again and rather let John and Adam at No Agenda do all the talking. One thing I will say is I don't feel my vote counted, as elections were already called before I even voted and I know I was not alone. I will live the American dream of "Just getting by" for a few more years. One last thing to mention as the picture above may mean - Are us "turkeys, going to be given another snow job?" I know, it's a stretch.
Last but not least Happy Birthday to the United States Marine Corps - Hoorah!

A Book. Drill Weekend. Snow?
May sound stupid but I think everyone should read the book Oh, The Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss. I picked this book at the thrift store and read it to my daughter and it hit me. This book speaks the truth, and remember - "98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed."
A dilemma or a question; when should I put up my Christmas tree? For those that don't know me, must know I love Christmas. I am not one to put up the tree the day before Christmas. I put it up weeks in advance and take it down weeks later. I see it as a decoration and love the mood it causes. Also have no idea where to put it in the new house. Sadly this year I will not be able to put up lights around the house.
Drill weekend done and as usual it went well. Again offered opportunities for classes and even spending two weeks at the reserve center verifying medical records but these things tend to not get funded and approved. We had a fashion show on Saturday with the uniform inspections and Sunday the PRT. PRT went well again and passed.
Looking to a full week at work and clean up around the house and start to decorate for Thanksgiving. Have to keep going with my wood pile splitting for this winter. I got a good chunk done already but need more as I love to turn on the fireplace as much as possible. Snow may be forecasted for the end of the week.
Finished reading The Marks Of Cain by Tom Knox and found the book entertaining. The book got me to know a little about Cagots and their background in the Basque Country. The ending of the book got you to think why the holocausts might have happened. My next read I went with a shorter book in Asimov's Foundation and Empire.

All Hallow's Eve
Halloween was great. I went out with a friend and her daughter and a few of her friends. Natalia had a great time. Couldn't have asked for a better day. So far so good on my new position at work. No headaches or problems. Now I hope I can get the work hours needed.
Finished watching season 2 of The Walking Dead and that last episode left me wanting more (Daryl Dixon is awesome!). But I will have to wait, and find another show. Playing a little Borderlands 2 and Assassin's Creed 3. Two more big games being released the next 2 weeks and that is it for the year.
Natalia again went to the doctors and again prescribed OTC cream. I picked her up with minor scars so I will clear those up in he next few days here.
I'm not religious but I do like to read about the bible and things that make you think. My latest book referred to Genesis 4:14 where Cain was punished - "... and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that everyone that findeth me shall slay me". Who shall find him? I thought it was just Adam and Eve and no one else on earth. Where there others roaming the earth that the bible is trying to refer to? Who were they?
Disney buys Lucas Arts. Now I can say bye bye to Star Wars. I think the picture says it all. However Star Wars Episodes 7-9 are planned.

Trunk Or Treat.
Finally got my transfer at work. A step down but I was not going to take more "BS" at work. On to a simpler job and a change of scenery. I am sure I will quickly get adjusted to it. I am looking to simplify my life and raise my daughter to be happy and simple.
Still plowing moving through The Marks Of Cain and a good read. Even got me referring to the bible for references. Love the setting and many areas bring back some memories.
Temperatures are more fall like with a constant breeze. So Cal Edison cut down a tree in my property which I was OK with and left me the wood. They were nice enough to cut it up and stack it. I must say I was hoping to do that work as I like that kind if stuff. Now find a place to stack it out of the elements to dry for next year.May be picking up the new Medal Of Honor: Warfighter game this week. So far I should have time after work to play and I like the franchise, or I may just download the latest DLC for Borderlands 2 to level up. But again, Assasin's Creed 3 comes out this week.

Hooked On A Show
Fall is clearly here with the change of colors in nature, the nice constant breeze and cold temperatures. However looks like there will not be any snow before Halloween. Trunk Or Treat is this coming Saturday and I have chili to make. It will be cold out for the kids as usual.
Finished reading Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. This is my second read through of this book as I felt I didn't get much the first read. I had a few books to choose from for my next read and decided to read The Marks Of Cain by Tom Knox as it goes again to discuss Cain and it is somewhat set in the Basque Country (Euskadi) whom I called home for some years.
Charlie Brown for president. Why not? Who would be his running mate?
Decided to watch an episode of The Walking Dead and in short found myself watching the whole first season in one night. I got hooked to the characters and even cried a little at the reunion of Rick Grimes with his family and the death of Amy. I love survival type stories where leaders are pulled out and decisions to be made in a big lonely world. Many times I find myself thinking why these people don't find a nice isolated farm, stock up on all kinds of supplies and set up.
Do you know from what movie this picture is from? For bonus points can you name the characters?

Pumpkins, Apples & Pears.
Visited the pumpkin patch in Blue Jay and must say they had a nice looking scarecrow but Natalia was afraid of him so no picture with him. The colors of nature caught me staring out at the trees, so beautiful. Next year I want to plant some pumpkins, so any tips are appreciated. After finally getting Natalia and checking this "rash" it looks to me like heat rash and it doesn't surprise me. Doesn't seem to bother her at all when she is with me, however it is still present and I was hoping my now it would disappear She is always happy and playful here. Collected all the apples and pears from the trees at my parents house. Last year seemed like we collected more.
Winter will be here soon and if you're into following weather like me, check out SoCalWeather site. Bookmark it and add him to your Twitter. His weather forecasts are the most accurate I have come across. My little secret and now yours.
If this picture is recognizable by you, then you and me are much alike. I already like you. LOL.
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter movie gets released on DVD and I am eager to see it as I so much liked the book. Also Blade Runner gets its 30th Anniversary release edition. Doom 3 BFG is out but I will wait for a price drop. Medal Of Honor's new title out this week. Ghostbusters 3 movie might actually be a reality, but it will not have the nostalgia the original did.
Don't forget to watch The Guild: Episode 3 and the Sword & Laser John Scalzi Interview at the Geek & Sundry Channel.

Changes Are A Coming.
Another drill weekend done and busy as usual. I got another unit transfer to EMF Dallas and will do my AT in Bethesda, Maryland. A few from the unit I drill with have done work at the Walter Reed hospital, not many liked it it is mainly ran by the Army. I do hope for nice pay and "hospital hours" so I can do lots of sight seeing. My unit here is again trying to send me to an Audiology course to get certified as a tech. I hope this time around it works out. I can use the money and time off work.
Ex drama is back with the same problem. Natalia has a rash and I take to the ER. I have no problems while she is with me. At least during our text exchanges my ex admitted to having taken Natalia to the hospital for no real reason other than to try to hurt me. In the end all Natalia was prescribed was OTC lotion.
I decided to post some art from the No Agenda Show. The picture speaks for itself. The blame game is fully on and no one wants to take the blame and be responsible. Sounds familiar?
The weather has warmed up a little again but temps will again drop by early part of next week leading to a cold Halloween with possible rains for the end of the week. Snow possible in Running Springs.
The truth about Armstrong is out in the public. I read the whole court document USADA filed and the testimony of the many riders and people involved. Incredible to me the UCI is suing Kimmage and thinks its not corrupt. They clearly took bribes and covered up results. Either way like Lance they will keep saying they are clean and blame the many for lying. To this day the wrath is incredible as so many people in the sport are quitting and leaving. I must say I was affected by all this as I knew many of the cheaters and shared the road with some. I know their testimony for some is not the whole truth as many got started cheating much earlier than some claim. Hard to compete with Vaughters as we shared the roads in Spain when he was doping so early on and same with George. I knew the sport was bad back in the early 90s as I saw the problem first hand in the amateur ranks back then. Sad people like myself were never really given a true chance to compete and see how it could have gone when so many teams opted to cheat and not give heir riders an option and instead threatened them and in many cases forced many riders to quit the sport. The backlash continues as he has "stepped" down from the Livestrong foundation and Nike has pulled their sponsorship and separated themselves from him. Feel free to read the submitted court papers with testimony here >>
Politics - Well I have to "throw my 2 cents in". It is amazing to me that people are dictating whom the next president should be from these "debates". These are simply shows where each candidate shows off as usual and bullshits us more. It is amazing to me that B. Obama smirks and laughs through these as if it was funny the state of our economy and foreign affairs. For B. Obama to say M. Romney is rich as if he himself was poor. Please, B. Obama has no problems paying his bills. I am sure in the years to come we will find out his many scams while president and hidden money he has stashed away and hid from us. To me it is very clear. 4 years on the job and it got much worse. Worse to the point of many Americans are seeing his socialist agenda being pushed down to us Americans. His countless "executive orders" bypassing our system set by our constitution. He seems to laugh at us and not care about us or our history. I'm done. But I beg you to listen to the No Agenda show as they clearly point everything out with no worries from media or advertisers, unlike so many news channels out there.
Say it isn't so! Mockingbird Lane which is the Munsters reboot. Now they are really starting to hit me where it hurts.

Good Movie. Good Weather.
Got a little burst of hail on Thursday which made the roads slippery for a few hours. Natalia got to put on her new boots and play in the snow. Woke up to a dark cold Friday which was great.
"Final report of the vessel Prometheus. The ship and her entire crew are gone. If you're receiving this transmission, make no attempt to come to its point of origin. There is only death here now, and I'm leaving it behind. It is New Year's Day, the year of our Lord, 2094. My name is Elisabeth Shaw, last survivor of the Prometheus. And I am still searching". - Elizabeth Shaw
Finally sat down and watched Prometheus as Natalia went to sleep early. I must say I really liked this movie. Maybe because I'm a fan and love movies with a huge story line and like to see it slowly tied in. It answered some questions but left many more. Nowhere can I find anything else about Dr. Shaw after she went in search of the Engineers with David 8. Were the Engineers really going to destroy us? Are we a failed experiment? Is this the first "Alien"? What exactly is the black goo? David the cyborg a meaning to David from the Old Testament? Should Shaw have asked the questions to the Engineer? Are the Engineers Frankenstein or are humans? Where is Paradise? I even watched the deleted scenes and had hoped Ridley Scott would have had the Engineer talk as to get an answer but he left it to the next film. So much debate online over the proximity of LV223 (Leviticus 22:3?) and LV426 (Leviticus 4:26?) to each other and that maybe David 8 and Weyland knew of the distress signal before. Also check out this YouTube video of proof of "Engineers" skeletons unearthed. I did however run across this image which should have been left in the film to shed light on the Engineers.
Ridley Scott unofficial confirms a sequel to Prometheus with these words - "It can explain to her how to put the head back on the body and she's gonna think about that long and hard because, once the head is back on his body, he's dangerous." - "They're going off to paradise but it could be the most savage, horrible place. Who are the Engineers?". Scott is also working on a sequel to Blade Runner.
Check out the David 8 from the Weyland Cybernetics. The new models are exceeding expectations and moving fast so pre-order soon. Please check out the recall on the David 7 models. Also check out the many cool products from Weyland Industries.
Gaming season is here as XCOM and Dishonored shipped and I await Assasin's Creed 3 and Halo 4 in the next few weeks. Gearbox also has announced its first DLC for Borderlands 2, Captain Scarlett And Her Pirate's Booty and I'm sure it will be fun.
Did you know that Punky Brewster's name is Penelope Brewster. Thought you all would want to know.

Thieves & Friends
My friend J, Jessica and Skyler came out to California this week to visit. We spent a few hours together which was very nice. Wish we could have spent more time together to really catch up, but always very nice to be together. Pictured is J and Skyler and Natalia and me in Big Bear Lake.
Temperatures continue to drop but snow not expected anytime soon in Running Springs. However snow before Halloween is not rare. Haven't been playing much Borderlands lately and hoping to jump online again to max out my first character.
Finished reading Bitter Seeds by Ian Tregillis and found it a bit entertaining. Will read the next one in the series. With this book I finished my Goodreads Challenge which was one of my new year's resolutions. I will keep reading at my pace to the end of the year to see how many books I end up reading in a year. I will try to go for 40. My next book will be a SciFi classic in the Foundation by Issac Asimov. Came across Star Wars: From The Adventures Of Luke Skywalker ghost written by Alan Dean Foster in my brother's container of books.
Did you know there are more than just 2 candidates for presidency of the United States of America? If you didn't then the media has done a great job brainwashing you. Here is a list.
PSA - Coffee + Chili = Not a good combination.
I've managed for a while to not get involved in discussing cycling scandals but I had to point out that George Hincapie, now retired has finally admitted to cheating. Just post a generic statement saying you're sorry and saying you want to clean up the sport but not before I retire. Never apologize for taking from others and stealing money. But, these news were just the beginning of what came later that day. The USADA released to the public their case and findings. I have read about half of the case thus far and it doesn't shock me as over the years many knew but now we can all put the pieces in place and timelines. Simply amazing what Lance has done to the sport. I truly hope in the end he suffers as much as he has made others. This man not only lied repeatedly over the years but stole much from so many riders in the sport. Riders whom never got that chance to make the breakthrough to professional cycling because of his cheating and helping others cheat. He even took from his "friends" the reason why they loved the sport. Lance managed to cover himself with his Livestrong Foundation and using that power/money to threaten many. One question I have had for years and am not afraid to ask - Is Lance's cancer a cause of his many years of doping? USADA only went as far as 1998 to start their claims, but I am sure it started much earlier than that. Over the next few weeks we will see this growing and more may come out and I'm sure Lance will continue to lie and call others liars as he has done for so many years. Either way looks like his sanctions will not be much. I only hope riders and companies start to sue him as he lied to so many and broke so many agreements. We seem to live in a world that it is OK to do bad things but as long as you confess to them it makes them alright. Here is the legal complaint >>
Red Dawn (1984) gets re-released in BluRay with fake cover art. Who approved this for this classic movie? Either way a movie everyone must see. Why? Never fear, The United States of America will always be safe.
Geek News - Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) to be in Avengers 2. Another Godzilla movie may be in the works. Armie Hammer new Batman for Justice League movie? Uncanny Avengers hits shelves this week. Rumors of a X-Men Vs. Avengers movie already floating.

My BFF In SoCal.
Thanks to a friend, Natalia watched the Gremlins. So many classics I want my daughter to know. Again went to see Granny Gretchen read stories, but we were the only ones there. Got my snow-blower ready and got nice progress on my wood splitting.
My work situation has gotten better. I figured it would. I'm sure my new manager was told I am unhappy and want to change departments and well, they can't have that. Just let me be and do my job is all I ask for. I deal with many problems many don't want to deal with.
Well, with gas prices shooting up I will remain home as much as possible. I was hoping to also have money to go out but that will not happen anytime soon. Sucks because my BFF and his family is in SoCal and it is very hard to get out to where he is at. Weather due to keep cooling down through the early part of this week and word of possible snow over 7,000'.
For those of you that know what the picture on top means, good on you! When I saw this I was thinking - Oh, Hell NO! Stop with the remakes already. But a BluRay release with digital copy, extras, deleted scenes, 3D, holographic mode (oops, not yet) should be released. Next week E.T. gets a BluRay release as well as Prometheus.
Geek News - Guillermo Del Toro working on new Frankenstein movie and a Hulk TV series. Guardians Of The Galaxy movie is still on track. Trailer for Iron Man 3 movie to hit officially October 23. The movie Rise Of The Guardians to release November 21 and it looks fun. Tim Burton's Frankenweenie out in theaters now.

Bye, Bye Summer.
Well as predicted it has been rather warm earlier in the week. Never fails before the change. We're suppose to see temperatures dip in the lower 40s at night by the weekend. I'll have Natalia all week. She will have much fun as usual. Pictured is Natalia at the Pumpkin Patch last weekend. It was rather hot that day.
I'll have Natalia for the next 10 days. I have some plans for the next few days as I won't be working that many days this week. Planning one more BBQ if I can find Tri-Tip this time of year and may even turn on the fireplace if it gets cold enough. She will have fun relaxing up here as usual.
Work sucks and again seeking a transfer of department. I have been unable to move departments as usual excuse is that I am too knowledgeable. It amazes me to see people not accept responsibilities and place blame on others. It is a job and I can be thankful to have one in today's time.
Got notice from So Cal Edison that they may be cutting down some trees. I hope to be home to keep the fallen tree for firewood. With that being said I have better get of my ass and start splitting what I have in my yard.
Check out this awesome video from the Nerdist Channel on how to build an Infinity Gauntlet. Also check out the latest Lone Ranger Trailer. Check out The Guild Season 6 Episode 1 below.

Oh! The Views.
Decided to drive up to Keller Peak and admire the views. I don't know why I don't do this often. It is pretty much my backyard. The creeks were all dry but still great views. Also shot a small video looking down at Big Bear Valley, Snow Valley ski lift, Greyback and San Gorgonio.
Discovered Granny Gretchen Story Time at Lake Arrowhead and took Natalia and it was very nice. This may be our Friday morning outing as long as possible. Also went to the Live Oak Pumpkin Farm. A bit warm and expensive. I managed to get out of there sending no money and Natalia had fun. Of course all she remembers was a wood cutout of Frankenstein.
It will be very hot the next few days and towards the end of the week a big change. My weather guy says snow possible at high elevations by the end of the week. No snow here yet but the shift may happen this week.
Still reading Bitter Seeds and stories from the Necronomicon every now and then.
Here is another candidate for presidency you may want to check out. Why vote for a lesser evil when we can have Cthulhu rule over us?
iPhone? Before you buy an iPhone please check this article and pictures out. You think your tattoo is awesome? Think again.
Geek News - The Guild Season 6 is just around the corner. Mark Millar will be involved with all the X-Men and Fantastic Four movies from this point forward.

Why is raising children so hard? Just read Brave New World and get some tips. You can also say that today's society may be aiming for Huxley's world as the pharmaceutical firms push medications and determine what is "normal".
Not much happened this week. A few days off and I took them with no complaints. Temperatures have started to lower slightly and you can see the changing of the seasons starting to take place. The leaves are falling and there seems to be a constant breeze among the trees. I better get off my ass and start splitting all that wood I have.
My next book is Bitter Seeds by Ian Tregillis. Kind of an alternate universe with supernatural elements. This will be my 30th book and thus I will complete my challenge to read 30 books. I will keep going until the end of the year to see how many I read in the year. Also still wondering the lands of Pandora in Borderlands 2 on XBOX.
If Kenobi/Skywalker are not your choice maybe these are. Forget Google street view, check out Google Ocean. On the cycling news, Phillipe Gilbert from Belgium takes the World Championships. He will be a good wearer of the jersey next year.
Geek News - Official images of new Wolverine movie are out. New Hulk movie with Ruffalo? Check out Thanos concept art for the next Avengers film.

Now, I'm Impressed.
With that being said, you'll be able to find me in Borderlands 2 playing as Maya. All friends welcomed. Since I'm broke again and need to save up money I'll be home playing and reading and maybe catching up on movies.
Finished reading The Long Earth and I was disappointed in the ending. What the heck? Just pretty much built up this special being and BAM! the end. I decided my next to be the classic by Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.
Elections are around the corner and I managed to not post too much of my political views. Weird since it is one of my things. I guess it is the Puerto Rican in me, we are all political. But to make light of our problems and what may be a horrible 2013 I ask you to consider these candidates.I started to use Facebook recently and I like it as I have been able to find old friends but is it me or is Facebook too advertising heavy. Seems like half my page is all ads. With that being said feel free to add me.
Geek News! - Dragon Age 3: Inquisition has been announced and it looks to be a first person perspective game. It has been announced that Captain America will become president in the Marvel's Ultimate Avengers universe. Kick Ass 2 movie is on the way and it looks like Hit Girl will get more screen time. The new Captain America movie will feature Falcon! The next Batman movie will again focus on the Joker and lead to the Justice League movie.

Let Me Count The Ways. 1. 2. 3.
I came across this picture and thought it proper for my friends whom love the genre. Next time you get hot and heavy, picture this image.
Cycling Worlds are this week and first event was the first TTT by teams and not by country. Omega Pharma-Quickstep takes the win while Taylor and BMC was just 3 seconds behind. On the Individual TT Martin takes the jersey and Taylor takes second place by just 5 seconds.
1. 2. 3 years? After so many years my friend J is still riding around. This past weekend he went around again for who knows how many times the Skull Valley Loop. I think it is an event he holds dear to his heart. I think he wants to set a record as the person whom competed in this event the longest. Thus far I count about 20 years.
1. 2. 3 hours? Borderlands 2 is finally here and I haven't played as much as I was planning but next week looks promising. Thus far no complaints. Game is very identical to its successor which is not a bad thing. I have chosen to play as Maya and will get online once I get at least past level 10 in the single player game. How many hours will I spend in this game?
1. 2. 3 Earths? Still reading The Long Earth and hope to get it finished by this weekend. The story and feel of it is very Jules Verne like, which I like. Interesting to read about a concept of multiple earths and being able to move through them.

Immortality and Jigawatts!
"Tell your story. That's the secret of immortality. The one true way to live forever." - The Book of Lies
Finished reading The Book of Lies. I likes the story very much and kept me turning pages. The search for the meaning of the Mark of Cain and the Superman back story combination is a winner. This book got me referring to the bible for the passages. The ending I was hoping for something of more "grandeur" but a good ending. The quote above narrows the story. Decided to read The Long Earth by Sir Terry Pratchett.
To the uneducated or plain stupid people out there - It's GIGABYTE not JIGAWATT. Sometimes I get insulted by correcting people. What's the difference? JIGAWATTS is a unit of measure used by a Flux-capacitor for time travel, Duh! By the way, Apple has not yet released the 16 JIGAWATT iPhone. Can you imagine, Time travel takes 1.21 JIGAWATTS. I'm still waiting for that one.
Work lately has been a pain due to the remodel and so many customers don't understand and like to be a pain in the ass for no reason, but that is part of the clientele there. On top of that the new iPhone has been announced and I am seen as the answer person for all.
Next week Borderlands 2 arrives and I am eagerly awaiting to jump back into Pandora. I hope to hook up with friends to play online. So if you're in XBOX Live and want to play Borderlands, let me know.
Avengers 2 will be out May 1, 2015. So please don't ask if its out on DVD yet. The attempt to bring back Daredevil to the big screen has been scrapped.
Comikaze Expo was this weekend and I found out about it too late to make plans to attend. I would have loved to have gone down with Natalia, but someone didn't think to let me know.
