Barbies, Hulk And A Raccoon!

My Christmas celebrations are over and "ex wife drama" as again she choose to not pay attention to the court orders and do as she pleased during Christmas by keeping her an extra day and not really giving Natalia the pleasure of waking up at daddy's house to see her presents under the tree that Santa left her. Instead I mistakenly choose to try to reason with her for a few hours to simply get laughed at as usual. I don't think her actions will never bother me as it always will anger me that such actions go unpunished.

Santa brought Natalia what she asked but as I figured she didn't pay much attention to the Barbies she received. Santa left musical instruments at my parents house which is what she is most excited about. Also Santa left her The Hulk which is her favorite super hero. So it is a Hulk smash musical Christmas.

During Christmas day I was alone and made it a guys day again. Finished Halo 4 and maxed out another character in Borderlands 2. Still reading Wizard & Glass ( Dark Tower 4) and won't finish before the year is over. I know, not very attractive or exciting.

Last night while relaxing in the couch with Natalia eating some good stale popcorn from those big tins, I noticed what I thought was a cat outside when all the sudden it puts its paws up on the glass door and it is a raccoon. A nice size raccoon and I opened the door to see what it would do. It just sat there and looked at me. I always figured I have a nice size nest in one of the trees in the new place.

I was expecting to wake up to some snow this morning but it seems it will start to roll in this afternoon. I hope we don't get dumped on as I have to get up early tomorrow to avoid my daughters mom from freaking out.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all. Glad to see it is acceptable to say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays, So Merry Christmas! I was starting to worry there for a bit as our society would become "dumbed down". For me it is not about the day but the season. The time this special feeling is in the air. I know I am one of the few that get this feeling as Christmas for many lately is time to spend money and be aggravated with many. Once the day arrives for many they switch off. But, to me this season continues for many more weeks. I work retail and saw last night how quickly Christmas is torn down pushed to the side in a matter of minutes.

I love all seasons, holidays and occasions as they have their time throughout the years make us aware of time. This can be a time where so many are always in a hurry and feel more important than others. Where does everyone want to get in such a hurry I always wonder. Plus no one is more important than any other person. Many may have made mistakes in various degrees but it is up to each individual to make those and live with those actions and when the time comes answer for those actions.

That was my holiday rant, I will be celebrating Christmas a few days later as I spoke with Santa and arranged a later delivery. One where he is not so busy and more rested.

Merry Christmas to you and to all!

... And Here We Are. The Night Before Christmas.

I would like to wish all those that I have had the pleasure to cross paths this year and many whom I walked alongside for a while and those that I continue to walk alongside with a very good day, night and Merry Christmas.

I will be celebrating Christmas a few days late with Natalia as I talked with Santa a few weeks back and asked him not to worry about my house. He can come by a few days later when he is more relaxed and maybe we can share some of the sugar cookies I keep making him and eating them.

Well as you all know by now we all woke up on December 21 to yet many more years in this existence. Galactus didn't eat us so we may thank S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Silver Surfer (OK, too geeky). So keep on trucking! I enjoyed many of the twitter remarks regarding this date.

No snow these past few days and last night just a tiny bit of rain as the temps rose a bit. We were all hoping for at least a dusting to cover up the dirty snow and give us nice white all over the mountain. Natalia and I have been sick for a few days and stayed home. Didn't go out to clean decks and clear out ice. It is a bit hopeless as it all freezes overnight. I must say I've been finding all kinds of cool videos on YouTube on cycling in Spain during my times. Brings back awesome memories to see these. I can see my heroes from those days in so much footage.

New Mad Max movie on the way and I have to say from the screenshot it doesn't look bad. A JAWS remake? Sorry, it won't have the impact the original did.

My favorite video game gets another awesome DLC with Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt.

What if the E.T. movie was more of a horror movie?

A Reminder: Today Is The Last Day.

A quick post since this may be our last day in existence in this plane. It has been a full life for me thus far with many ups and downs. But for some reason my pessimistic self thinks many of us will wake up tomorrow morning in this plane to keep pushing along.

A tough Christmas financially but the spirit is there. Natalia is doing great and we will spend about 5 days together. Still no real idea on when Santa may be bringing her gifts.

Weather will warm up just a little and we have had some snow melt off and freezing temps overnight causing for real nice icicles and real slippery deck. Won't be long before I make another great fall. Just hope someone else is watching and laughs with me. I always say a good fall is a terrible thing to waste.

Job is going well and I again find myself dealing with "special" problems but that is my nature. I can never change being helpful and taking on other jobs. It was nice seeing someone briefly yesterday. Don't loose touch.

Don't forget to keep up with The Guild as the "game" may be in danger!

Santa Is Here!

Went to see Santa in town on Friday as he made a quick stop and later that night went to see him again a few hours later at the Bass Pro Shops with a friend. It was a very nice Friday. Natalia again went to see Santa a third time at my parents church Christmas party.

Introduced Natalia this weekend to yet another classic in The Munsters. She likes them sometimes. Now if I can get her to like the Andy Griffith Show.

About 2' of snow and back to winter mode. Finally got the driveway clear but still need to clean up the deck. More snow expected around Tuesday but not as much.

My job at the NOSC is over and back to my normal job Sunday. I will miss the normal PT sessions with OS1 and the topics of conversation. So far decent hours for this week. It always seems to amaze me how ignorant people are. Always amazes me the so many on government aid but yet they have hundreds of dollars of junk to buy. That's the part that really slowly gets to me. This combination sadly is where I feel our country in general is moving towards. Thank God not all of us are like this and there is a glimmer of hope.

While at the NOSC the discussion about the 50 Shades Of Grey book came up and me and another Doc told ourselves we would read it. He got it for his wife in hopes of some ... Me? I'm just curious what all the fuzz is about. However I doubt I will read it with so many books already on my wish list.

This week we also saw yet another random act of violence. Again gun control is being pushed by the media. I will say here I believe we all should have the right to arm ourselves. I know it is against what media and government are trying to brainwash us with. We never really hear about all these acts stopped by bystanders with concealed weapons. Those always get pushed to the side or misreported. Not many know of a Portland shooting at a mall this same week which was stopped by a bystander carrying a concealed weapon.  Many such acts happen often but are usually never reported. No, we hear about the Sandy Hook school where the government passed laws where no weapons can be within 1000' and a school where real stupid security was employed. Strict laws where passed but it still happened. How can that be? Instead, now I see the government over the years making these shooters have mental conditions where they need medications thus I see a future where all our children will be forced to be on medications dictated by pharmaceutical companies to make bigger profits. Nowhere do we read about these shooters causing this because they were on medications which were not working. No, those facts get pushed to the side in reports. We can have a government that has weaponized drones killing people from far away and a president whom has no problems stating he has a "kill list". We have no problems killing defend-less civilians all over the world and it is OK, but we cannot have our citizens obtain weapons because it is seen as bad. A government that has no problems lying to us as in the case in Benghazi where now we need answers and Hilary Clinton all the sudden suffers a concussion where she is not allowed to testify. I know I seem to many as a cynical and crazy but that is my feelings on the matter.

Mountain bike rider Inaki Lejarreta has died in a car accident. He was the nephew of the great Marino Lejarreta whom I admired. I always wondered why Inaki never concentrated in a road career and maybe he had the style, class and passion his uncle did and showed the new generation.

Oh! The Paper Work, Barney.

Still verifying medical records and organizing at the NOSC. Only a few more days left and my AT will be over for the year. Hope the pay is decent and I get paid  fast. It is always great to work among the staff here as we get to see each other more often and know each other.

Weather is changing and snow expected for Thursday. Not much but looks like more of the pattern is to follow on Monday.

Won't be able to pick up Natalia until Friday afternoon since my parents went on a short trip planned before my orders for the Navy dropped and I won't have anyone to take care of Natalia on Thursday of Friday. I was hoping to get this Friday off as well but they want us to show up and do other kind of work since we will already have finished our records verification. I do have planned to go see Santa at the Bass Pro Shops Friday night with Natalia and enjoy the night in Victoria Gardens. Hopefully decent snow where she can play outside.

Been getting home and not doing much. Just relaxing and heading to bed and doing some reading. For whatever reason watching quite a bit of the Andy Griffith Show.

Pecos Bill On A Sleigh Bed?

Still moving along with the medical records. Not very exciting but a job that needs to be done. At least it is very laid back here. One more week and I am sure we will finish.

Finished reading Bowl Of Heaven by Gregory Benford and Larry Niven and it was alright. Didn't find it very catching at points so my reading slowed down. As I was nearing the end I kept looking at the page count as I was eager to know what the mystery behind the Bowl was, who were the Astronomers, where they were heading and why? Well as you guessed it is part of a bigger story and there is a second book on the way. I though it was a single book. I guess now I await the next book. As promised I started the 4th book in the Dark Tower series with the Wizard And Glass by Stephen King. This one is a longer read.

The Prana sale was this weekend and I didn't go. Wish I had money to go. It is the only time in the year I go out to buy clothes. Cool clothes at great prices. Instead stayed at home as usual. Made our frequent visit to the local thrift store and you can see Natalia pictured with the giant snowman. Scored a sleigh bed but it needs some patching up and work. Snow expected on Thursday and I am ready. I doubt it will be much but enough to get the mood started.

Skyrim finally gets a good DLC released which seems more like an expansion pack. Dragonborn DLC will have me jump back in Skyrim to check this out. It is one of those games I really liked and don't want to let go. Also still haven't jumped in the Mr Torgues DLC for Borderlands 2. Not to forget Halo 4 campaign which looks good. Between the games and the many books I want to read I think I'll be good for those cold snowy winter days soon to arrive. I do wish I could catch up on comics but that can get expensive.

May sound very weird to those that know me but when I was a little boy I got in a Pecos Bill "kick" as my parents tell me. I never put down the book with vinyl record from those days (do you remember?). So here is what I am talking about.

Hardcore Corpsman Work!

Well, not really, but part of the job here. Drill weekend done and no real work. Holiday party and a bunch of presentations. On Sunday I was asked if I can come over to the NOSC (Reserve Center) and help out verifying medical records and getting ready for an inspection and of course I said yes. An hour later I had orders in hand starting Monday (The next day) for two weeks. Orders that quick I was surprised but some Chiefs don't mess around. My unit officers were not happy to see the jump of chain of command or the dirty way it got done but it got done and I am better used this way that what I was suppose to do. They pay will not be great but a little better than my normal job. Plus I'm doing something satisfying and meaningful. Now I get my AT out of the way very early and my unit has one less person to worry about.

I guess due to my Navy work, I've been getting home tired. Don't know why as the work is not very hard. Short hours and just paperwork. Got most of it done with a week to go and will use the next few days to clean it up and organize as much as possible. Always good to help out the NOSC as they support us and remember those that are around. I do hope this coming year I get sent to a few courses to help out the NOSC. Anything local for a few days would be awesome. Also this weekend was HN Balisi's last drill for a while as he too deploys to Afghanistan. Hopefully he gets together with HM3 Mejia and HM2 Alcocer. HN Balisi will do great and should have no doubts. Fast learner and very eager to do do all he can for his Sailors and Marines - Hoorah!

Got Halo 4 and thought I was going to be playing more than I did. Started the campaign on Wednesday and wont be able to play again until Sunday. So far much better looking than prior versions and very nice sounding game.

Weather has been crazy as we have had no snow or even chanced at it lately. The next few days will remain as today and maybe colder temps Sunday into Monday.
